BERLIN, NH, November 15, 2024 – Androscoggin Valley Hospital (AVH), a proud affiliate of North Country Healthcare (NCH) is pleased to announce that Erin Samel, PT, DPT, MS, a dedicated member of its Physical Therapy team, has recently been published in a national academic journal. Her work, alongside her co-authors, has been featured in Physical Therapy Journal (PTJ), a leading peer-reviewed publication in the field.
The article, Maternal Health Disparities in Acute Care Rehabilitation, reflects her commitment to advancing knowledge and improving patient care. Physical and Occupational Therapy, offered to all mothers who deliver babies at the Valley Birthplace, provide a unique and beneficial postpartum experience. Designed to assist with mobility needs and guide return to activity, the care also monitors for possible complications and provides education on healing and recovery. Having earned her Pelvic Health certification, through Evidence in Motion, Erin routinely works with new mothers to best ensure optimal health. In addition to postpartum care, Erin works with individuals of all ages, treating pelvic floor dysfunction.
