Our state-of-the-art facilities offer evaluation and treatment of the full range of sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, snoring, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome and more.

Services at both locations include the following:

  • Pediatric and adult sleep services
  • Full neurologic exams
  • Clinical diagnostic services and treatment for patients with symptoms that suggest a sleep disorder
  • Patient evaluation by a sleep center physician
  • Polysomnography (sleep evaluations in which electrodes measure brain waves, eye movements, muscle activity, respiration, heart rate and rhythm)
  • A board-certified sleep medicine specialist at both locations, to review all interpretations
  • Patient education
  • Individualized plan of care
  • Troubleshooting
  • Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP)
  • Biphasic Airway Pressure (BiPAP)
  • Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV)

Center for Sleep Medicine at AVH:

Initial patient consultations are held on the 2nd floor (2-North area) of Androscoggin Valley Hospital. Sleep lab suites and an intervening technical control viewing area are located on the 3rd floor. Each patient suite has a television and internet access for the convenience and comfort of our patients. In addition to its Medical Director, Joseph DellaValla, MD, FACP, the Center for Sleep Medicine at AVH features a number of certified sleep technologists.

Center for Sleep Medicine at Weeks Medical Center:

Initial patient consultations for the Center for Sleep Medicine at Weeks Medical Center are performed by Irving Smith, DO, Board Certified Internist and Sleep Specialist, on the 2nd floor of the newly constructed Lancaster Patient Care Center, as well the Weeks Medical Centers Whitefield and Littleton offices. Overnight sleep studies are available to be performed at home for qualifying patients, or in our spacious and quiet sleep lab conveniently located in the hospital wing of Weeks Medical Center.
