Androscoggin Valley Hospital (AVH), a proud affiliate of North Country Healthcare (NCH) and Coös County Family Health Services (CCFHS) are pleased to announce that a donation was recently made by the Great Northwoods Community Foundation (GNCF) to the Town of Gorham Wellness Committee in the amount of $20,000 for the purposes of advancing activities related to healthy activities and overall well-being. Ken Gordon, Chief Executive Officer, CCFHS and GNCF Board Chair, and Michael Peterson, FACHE, AVH Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chair of GNCF, presented the donation to Peter Gagnon, Town Manager, Gorham, New Hampshire.
The Great Northwoods Community Foundation, a community benefit joint-venture between AVH and CCFHS, works to improve the social drivers of health for the Berlin/Gorham region. Thus far, GNCF has donated over $120,000 to both Gorham and Berlin for this purpose.
A similar donation of $20,000 was also made to the City of Berlin last week to support their health and wellness endeavors.
Commented Ken Gordon, “The Great North Woods Charitable Foundation is proud to partner with the Town of Gorham and the City of Berlin to enhance the health and well-being of area residents. Over the years, both municipalities have worked hard to create a culture of health and wellness in their communities. These funds will support those continued efforts.” Added Michael Peterson, “We’re happy to collaborate to give back to our communities, to improve their overall health.”
